For every hand created, there was a pledge to sustain Indiana’s Air, Water, Food, Energy and Biodiversity.
Public Engagement Art Project
Hands on Indiana the pilot project by Hands On Artists, was a public engagement art project celebrating Indiana’s Bicentennial in 2016. Together with Sustainable Indiana 2016 and Earth Charter Indiana, they are promoting awareness of sustainable living for now and future generation.

March 29, 2014 – Earth Charter Indiana fundraiser, Indianapolis City Market, 222 E Market St Indianapolis, IN
June 5, 2016 – Indianapolis Public Library, 40 E Saint Clair St Indianapolis, IN
June 11, 2016 – Circle City Indy Pride Festival, American Legion Mall, 700 N Pennsylvania St, Indianapolis, IN
June 21, 2016 – Indiana Recycling Coalition Conference 2016, Marriott East Hotel, Indianapolis, IN
August 20, 2016 – Indiana State Fair, Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis, IN
December 2, 2016 – Happiness House, 1135 Cruft Street, Indianapolis, IN
Hands on Indiana was a Public Engagement Art project to celebrate and promote sustainability for Indiana’s Bicentennial in 2016.
3,057 hands were collected and every participant took a pledge:
To celebrate Indiana’s Bicentennial, I pledge to sustain the Air, Water, Energy, Food and Biodiversity in Indiana’s Third Century.
